From dismantling to repositioning,
a complete operation

Commissioned by MOT, W. SMIT carried out a complete pontoon operation using our Multicat, SMIT Waalhaven 9, supported by our own diving team.

The work started with the removal of the gangway, after which our diving team carefully disconnected the pile guides underwater. The pontoon was then dismantled and safely transported to the shipyard, where it underwent extensive maintenance.

Once the maintenance had been completed, we collected the pontoon and returned it to the MOT location. With the support of our own diving team, the pontoon was accurately repositioned and the pile guides were attached. Finally, the gangway was reinstalled, allowing the installation to be handled over fully operational.

This project is a clear example of how specialist operations can be combined efficiently. Through an integrated approach and the effective deployment of our own equipment and expertise, both lead time and costs were minimised.
