Family as our foundation
In 1958, Willem Smit laid the foundations for what is now Duik- en Bergingsbedrijf W. SMIT. As the first ‘frogman service’ in the Netherlands, he started with a clear debrief: when someone has a problem on or under the water, you have to be there. Directly and without detours. That mentality still forms the core of our company today.
From the very beginning, W. SMIT has been a true family business. An organisation where trust, commitment and responsibility are central themes. These family values are reflected in the way we work: keeping our promises, taking responsibility and working together based on trust. That is also why many clients have relied on us for many years.
