Subsea works on board an offshore crane vessel
The SSCV Sleipnir is a striking presence in the Port of Rotterdam and is among the largest offshore crane vessels of its class.
The team of W. SMIT carried out periodic subsea maintenance and repair works on board. These operations included the replacement of an 85-ton thruster, underwater welding activities, as well as propeller blade inspections and polishing. In addition, the sea chests were internally cleaned and all gratings were replaced to ensure long-term operational reliability.
The works were executed in close cooperation with Heerema Marine Contractors. Our pontoons were positioned directly alongside the SSCV Sleipnir, clearly highlighting the scale of this project.
