New Stage V engines for the SMIT Waalhaven 8
The SMIT Waalhaven 8 is currently out of service for a major repowering project. Through this upgrade, Diving & Salvage Company W. SMIT is investing in the reliability, performance and future readiness of its fleet.
The existing engines are being replaced with new Stage V engines that comply with the latest emission standards, significantly reducing emissions. In addition, the mobile crane on deck is already Stage V compliant. This modernisation reflects W. SMIT’s ongoing commitment to innovation and sustainability, while taking another important step towards a more efficient and future-ready fleet.
The repowering project is being carried out in cooperation with Visscher Scheepsreparatie.
